Today's Quick Mention: There's a couple
of good shows set for tonight. Islands are
playing at the Parish, and Edward Sharpe And The
Magnetic Zeroes will be at La Zona Rosa. I
think both bands are worth seeing, but it might be
more interesting to see how good or bad the latter
works in a live setting.
I knew the people out in Hollywood had once again
assembled a bunch of indie acts for the soundtrack
to the latest Twilight flick, but I guess I
must have totally missed the part that mentioned the
compilation having something brand spanking new from
Battles (as a bonus track). Why didn't any of
you crazy kids tell me this? Anyhow, give it a
listen below. Enjoy.

- The Line:
This starts off as any standard rock song would, so I have
to say that at first I was a little worried the guys had
simply turned in something accessible for all the tweens
that will surely rush out and buy the soundtrack. But,
as if they figured everyone would think that, this quickly
turns loud and goes to a kind of sonically advanced place
that only Battles can. Feel free to blow your speakers
out with this.
