Today's Quick Mention:  It would appear that Frightened Rabbit's upcoming The Winter Of Mixed Drinks is streaming in its entirety over at the band's Myspace page.  Check it out!  Personally, I'll be waiting until I can fully convince myself to not expect another Midnight Organ Fight.  The LP is physically due March 9.

Posting inspirational tracks that have been remixed as the official song of the World Cup isn't usually what we do around here (or ever, actually), but today's a new day.  Or whatever.  In any case, K'naan impressed greatly when I saw him at an Austin City Limits taping last year and Troubadour is a fantastic listen, so I think it's time I showed some love.  Enjoy.

:K'naan - Wavin' Flag (The Celebration Mix):  Aside from a handful of lyrical changes, the main difference here is the music, which has been infused with such a refreshing feeling that the song is now something I didn't think was even possible - it's more uplifting.  Unfortunately, I think that means there's a good chance you're dead on the inside if at least a small part of you doesn't find this appealing.  Sorry.
