Today's Quick Mention:  I don't actually read PC World, but I noticed via Digg that they had a nice article on the fifth anniversary of YouTube's existence.  Kind of weird thinking about what we did for instant visual entertainment before they came along.

Cymbals Eat Guitars landed the top spot on my album list last year, so it's only natural for me to cover whatever it is they have going on in 2010.  Of course, that's certainly made easier when they're packing a re-recorded version of Wind Phoenix (a track from Why There Are Mountains) and a b-side that's an Elliott Smith cover.  Expect to see the single out on March 1.  Enjoy.

:Cymbals Eat Guitars - Ballad Of Big Nothing (Elliott Smith Cover):  It's hard to make any changes to an Elliott Smith song without having the introspective hipsters of the world shoot you an angry glance, so I think it was smart of Cymbals Eat Guitars to keep things simple here.  In fact, all you'll really catch that's different than the original is the tone of the track, which is now a tad bit more warm and confident.  Good stuff.
