Time for your weekly notable news update!  Below you'll find a slew of sentences meant to provide a brief glimpse of what's been going on over the past week in movieland.  If something leaves you desperate for more info then my advice is to do a little extra research on one or all of the following fantastic sites:  Latino Review, Dark Horizons, Ain't It Cool News, CHUD and/or JoBlo.  Now, read on!

Movie News Rundown

Cop Out has a red band trailer now.  Let's just say the movie no longer looks like a huge train wreck.

Taylor Lautner (The Twilight Saga) will star in Stretch Armstrong 3D.

Gunsmoke is heading to the big screen.  No word yet on a director or anything, but Brad Pitt and Ryan Reynolds are rumored to be the top choices for the role of Marshall Dillon.

Logan Lerman, the kid from that awful looking Percy Jackson flick, is rumored to be on the preferred list to possibly play Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.

You can see the Robin Hood Super Bowl TV spot now.  Not sure what I think about the movie just yet.

Columbia Pictures is in the process of adapting Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol into a movie.

I don't know if M. Night Shyamalan will pull off The Last Airbender, but the latest TV spot does look pretty neat.

Looks like Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and director Justin Lin will be back for what's currently being called Fast Five.

Shutter Island has a new TV spot.  Does anyone else feel like this movie shouldn't be coming out in the doldrums of February?

Clash Of The Titans has been pushed back a week so that it can be converted to 3D.

Lee Zlotoff, the creator of MacGuyver, is currently working to get the parody movie MacGruber shut down.

Olivia Wilde is in talks to join the cast of Cowboys And Aliens, which also stars Daniel Craig.

Fox is looking to reboot Daredevil.

L.A.P.I. wil be Jody Hill and Danny McBride's next film.  No word yet on the plot.

Russell Crowe and Beyonce may star in a remake of A Star Is Born.  The film would follow a musician who falls in love with the young female artist that he's mentoring.

Eric Bana will star in Hanna, which is about a young girl who is trained by her father to be an assassin.

Christian Bale, Javier Bardem, Rachel McAdams and Olga Kurylenk have signed on to appear in Terrance Malick's currently untitled romantic drama.

Matt Damon has said that the studio may pursue a Bourne prequel with a younger actor.

Ong Bak 3 now has a teaser.  Watch it if you like seeing people get elbowed repeatedly.
