Today's Quick Mention:  I don't know how many of you live in Chicago (or are willing to move), but Pitchfork is seeking interns for the Fall.  Could be neat and useful.  Plus, it's totally the best place to learn how to give good bands career crushing album scores.  Apply here!

A friend of mine mentioned Buke And Gass to me a few months back, so I gave them a listen and ended up feeling as though they just weren't my thing.  Now, of course, they have a new track floating around that I really like and I'm interested in seeing them play the Mohawk next month.  Talk about shifting gears, right?  Riposte is due September 14 on Brassland.  Enjoy.

:Buke And Gass - Your Face Left Before You:  I hope you're prepared for something that's wild and all over the place, because this certainly is.  Actually, I shouldn't bill it as being that over the top.  There are a few similarities to the super abstract-themed act Ponytail, but despite having that same combo of spastic energy and creative flare, there's actual lyrics and some focus.
