Now when it comes to my wanderings here over at Side One, I try my best to provide an artist that’s not only hopefully new to you, but something that’s relatively fresh to me too.  Today, while I still hope for the former, I can’t say there’s truth in the latter.  All I can say is I like these guys a lot ... and they’re Swedish.  Now I’ve been wanting to post something Swedish for a while, because if you have to have a list of things to associate with Sweden, it should always include Volvo, Vikings, IKEA, and damn good pop music.

Lacrosse is a Stockholm-based sextet that’s got me so enamored and captivated, I may have just fallen for them at a level befitting of the syndrome that carries their hometown’s name.  Looking into these guys, I find that they still have a shadow of relative obscurity surrounding them, and I can’t help but wonder why.  Whhhyyyyy?  Lacrosse carries that undeniable tinge of Swedishness with rock that’s sensible, clean, and modern.  Yes, I might have just described this band in terms that that happen to befit an IKEA product, but trust me when I say this Swedish export is set to last you well past any 90 day guarantee.  Lacrosse is fun, upbeat and hopefully helps to push you riiight over the week hump that is Wednesday and straight and clear to your weekend.
