Today's Quick Mention:  Did you guys see that Slash (whoever thought he would ever be mentioned here ... ?) decided to play The Tonight Show with a Team Coco button pinned to his jacket?  Naturally, NBC tried to hide it as much as possible, but people still caught a glimpse.  Good stuff, if you ask me.

It's been a while since I've mentioned Venice Is Sinking here at SOTO, so it only makes sense that this week happened to simultaneously churn out a little Twitter interaction between myself and the band and a new track.  Sand And Lines, which is their third LP, isn't due until June 15th, but that just means you have extra time to really fall in love with the cover tune below.  Enjoy.

:Venice Is Sinking - Tugboat (Galaxie 500 Cover):  I know I've already posted up a couple of slow building, headphone-worthy tracks this week, but this was lovingly recorded live in a theatre, so it has a warmth to it that's undeniably spectacular ... and that's just something I can't let you go without experiencing.  Also, I need to give it up to the band for really making the song their own.  Straight up covers are nice, but re-imaginings are definitely more interesting to check out.
