Today's Quick Mention: I have a super
busy week ahead of me, so I don't think I'll kick it
off with a late night of show going. However,
if I decided against proper planning, I'd totally
hit up Emo's tonight for King Kahn And The Shrines,
The Fresh And Onlys and The Strange Boys.
Despite thinking that breaking up with Jade Tree
Records and then waiting four years to put out
another effort was not the best of ideas, I was
still happy when I stumbled across a new and free EP
from Snowden over the weekend. It's called
Slow Soft Syrup. Check it
out, and
then keep watch for a new full length later this
year (hopefully). Enjoy.

- Don't Really Know Me:
I knew heading into this that Jordan Jeffares had previously
mentioned a lack of interest in writing
rock songs, so I figured I was in for something that would
be very electronic or overly experimental. But this is
not either of those. If anything, it's still very much
Snowden, but instead of Interpol-esque fuzz they've simply
slowed things down a bit and gone the route of
headphone-worthy fun. I like it. You will too.
Now we just need someone to point out why it took the band
so long to get to this point.
