Today's Quick Mention:  It's a good ways off, but I highly recommend purchasing a ticket to see Mono play at Emo's on April 30.  Balmorhea, who is local and very good, will open, and the show is said to be Mono's only one in Austin for the rest of the year.  You won't want to miss it.

You'd think that after a night of drinking and totally ruling at Pluckers trivia I'd come home and want to just flip on something loud, but you would be wrong.  I prefer CocoRosie.  Sometimes.  Once you've gotten tired of giving their new album cover a funny look then check out the tune below and mark May 11 on your calendar.  That's when Grey Oceans drops.  Enjoy.

:CocoRosie - Lemonade:  The longer I follow experimental art pop acts like this one the more I notice that at some point there's always a gradual shift from strange to a more accessible, yet whimsical sound.  It kind of happened with Deerhoof on their last LP, and it's continuing to develop with CocoRosie.  So, if they were too weird for you in the past, this may be the song that changes your mind.  At least give it a listen and see.
