Today's Quick Mention: Pitchfork has finally gotten around to
breaking down their Top 200 Albums Of The Last Decade. So far I
haven't wanted to hang my head in complete shame,
but they're not done yet. Check out the list
here.
It isn't too often I receive a press release that conveys genuine
excitement, but yesterday I did receive such a thing in regards to Sunbear.
Apparently, Indiecater went to the now defunct
Dublin act
to inquire about re-releasing the very few efforts (one LP, two EPs) that
they had put out before deciding to call it quits 10 years ago, and the
label was unexpectedly treated to a handful of unreleased gems.
Snazzy, right? Bits can be heard right
here.
Enjoy.

- Leadbelt:
"Sometimes/Things just work out" Considering that this
song has long been collecting dust, that lyric in particular
is rather fitting. Although, I suppose you could just
say that good music - in this case, late 90s shoe-gaze
perfection - always manages to find its way into people's
ears at some point in time. Or, at least that's the
world I like to think I live in.
