On Tuesday I should get to catch an advanced screening of Whip It.  I'm hoping it's good, especially since the wife plays roller derby, but I have my doubts that Drew Barrymore pulled off something that's isn't just a giant campy mess.  We'll see.

And now for went down over the past week.  Read on.

- The Rundown -

David Mamet's script for The Diary Of Anne Frank has been turned down by Disney.  Supposedly, it was too dark.

Corey Feldmen will be returning to the role of Edgar Frog in Lost Boys 3: The Thirst.  Hooray.

Mickey Rourke will be the titular character in The Ice Man: Confession Of A Mafia Contract Killer.  The film is an adaptation of the book by Phil Carlo.

Now that Sony and Mattel have let their arrangement over the He-Man property expire, Columbia is taking a look at bringing the action figure to the big screen.  On a related note, John Stevenson (Kung Fu Panda) is no longer attached to direct.

David Cronenberg is considering remaking the Fly, a movie that he actually already remade with Jeff Goldblum in 1986.  Weird.

Dreamworks is trying to gain the rights to Xombie, which follows a young girl who is helped by a xombie (a zombie that can still think like a human) in a post-apocalyptic world.

It looks like Bryan Singer is trying to fast-track Jack The Giant Killer.  The movie is said to follow a farmer who is sent on a mission to save a princess from ... giants.

Keanu Reeves has come out and said that Cowboy Beebop is being re-worked because the current script would demand a $500 million dollar budget.

Justin Lin (Fast And Furious) will direct a reboot of the Highlander series.

Rumor has it that a sequel to the upcoming Sherlock Holmes film is already lined up, and Brad Pitt will be playing the role of Moriarity.

Supposedly, there are two scripts for a Venom movie that have been turned in to Sony.  First though, she'll adapt Sweet Valley High, which follows the lives of identical twins who have very different personalities.

There's a chance that Diabo Cody (Juno) may write the script for the Playboy movie.

Wes Craven is in talks to direct Scream 4.  Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette have already signed on to return.

David Goyer in in talks to pen a Ghost Rider sequel.

Darren Aronofsky is set to direct a movie based on the 2006 bank robbery in Tonbridge, England.  No word yet on a title.

There's talk that MGM may be close to filing for bankruptcy.

Justin Timberlake and Jesse Eisenberg have been cast in the Facebook movie.
