Today's Quick Mention: I'm really debating whether or not I want to
try and head down to Emo's for the Gossip after the Austin Film Festival
comes to a close tonight at the Paramount. Anyone caught one of their
shows before? Will it be worth the time? Let me know!
This week has been heavy on the mellow, so today I'm turning the dial up to
a 12 with some music from a Brooklyn-based act who have named themselves the
just about impossible to Google word combination of Sleigh Bells. Damn
crazy kids. Anyhow, I'm not entirely sure how you can physically own
the music below, so if you must know I advise contacting them through
Myspace. Enjoy.

Bells - Crown On The Ground:
I swear. Every single time that I think I'm on the
verge of completely moving on from the nonsensical whatever
that noise pop has become (I'm looking at you Wavves),
someone like Sleigh Bells comes along and presents a more
accessible approach. Now, I doubt that means all of
you will like this, but regardless of sound the band does
have a undeniably infectious energy about them, so the
chances are pretty good. Just try not to dance
yourself to death once you get hooked.
