Today's Quick Mention: This week yielded a big fat nothing in
regards to my NFL tomfoolery. I lost my fantasy football game (thanks
a lot, Brian Westbrook's concussed head), and I went a measly 8-5 in my
picks. Lame. I blame the cold weather. Or you.
I remember hearing and thinking it was neat that Sharin Foo's sister filled
in for her while the Raveonettes singer was out on maternity leave, but for
whatever reason it never dawned on me to see if Loui Foo had a band of her
own. And? Of course she does! It's called Giana Factory,
and their debut EP, Bloody Game is currently available on Music For
Dreams.
Enjoy.

Factory - Bloody Game:
"You should cut open my veins/See if you find yourself in my
bloodstream" In case it's all you're wondering about,
this does not sound anything like the noisy gems that her
sister has been putting together over the years.
Actually, there's nothing of the sort here, as this is a
very precise, modern track that's more focused on telling an
unfortunate love tale than it is with anything else.
Expect to dig it.
