Today's Quick Mention:  If I haven't convinced you to attend the Austin Film Festival by now then it probably isn't going to happen, but all I ask is that you keep in mind that it doesn't end until Thursday, a pass is only $42 and there's still plenty of good films on the schedule.

I had been following Michael Nau and Whitney McGraw's transition from Page France to the Cotton Jones Basket Ride (now just Cotton Jones) very intently, but for whatever reason my interest waned and I lost track of what the duo were up to.  Apparently though, it was another EP.  This one is titled Rio Ranger, and it's out now on Quite Scientific.  Enjoy.

:Cotton Jones - Nicotine Canaries:  By this point I've gotten used to Michael and Whitney going in a new direction with every release, but I have to admit that I'm always surprised at how they manage to make each change seem so effortless.  Damn talented bastards!  In any case, the Rio Ranger EP has more hazy pieces of perfection like this on it, so if you like what you hear I advise that you snatch it up.
