Today's Quick Mention: I'm busy with the Austin Film Festival and an
early Halloween party this weekend, but if I could I'd get out and see White
Hinterland tonight, Dinosaur Jr. tomorrow and Art Brut on Sunday. Feel

I was hoping to have some sort of dancey gem that would send you into the
weekend feeling nice and light on your feet, but that's not really what you're
going to get out of Bellflur. Sort of. At any rate, the DC-based
act will put out the LP
Last Quarter Of The 20th Century Blues all on their lonesome come November 17.

"There is no future/Just this modern world" Ok, while
you could probably get your body moving to this song, I
think you'd be better served kicking back and listening to
its well crafted and superbly layered arrangement that
sounds as though it was lifted right out of some gloriously
moody track from the 80s. Here's hoping Bellflur has a few
more tunes like this tucked away on their album.
