Today's Quick Mention:  The Austin Film Festival begins tonight!  Feel free to recommend a few under the radar flicks that I should try and see.  Also, should I kick of this year's AFF with Meg Ryan and Serious Moonlight or John Woo and Red Cliff?  Seems kind of like a toss-up, really.

One of my first shows after permanently moving to Austin was at the Mohawk with a local act called Brazos, who at the time were opening for the soon to be superstars White Denim.  Since then I've followed along with what main brain Martin Crane's been up to, anxiously awaiting a proper full length, and now I have it.  Look for Phosphorescent Blues on November 24 via Autobus.  Enjoy.

:Brazos - Day Glo:  "I don't mind dying/When I make love to her"  First of all, while this can certainly float around and a fill a room nicely, Brazos makes great headphone music, and I highly recommend that you slap on a pair before hitting play.  That way you won't miss any part of the whimsical arrangement or Crane's sincere vocals and lyrical gems.  On another note, if you're out and about this weekend Brazos and White Denim will be playing a show at the Mohawk (crazy, right?) on Saturday.
