Today's Quick Mention:  I keep giving it the random listen, but I swear to whoever that the new Vampire Weekend single is not that great.  Why do people like it so much?  Are hipsters really running the world?  I hope not.  Prove you're not brainwashed and agree with me.

Since my weekend was wonderfully filled with Where The Wild Things Are and Mono/Maserati, there's a bit of art-oriented runover today with some new music from the San Antonio-based Ernest Gonzales.  If you like the song below (and I believe you probably will) then I highly recommend that you get his Self Awakening EP when it comes out on Friends Of Friends tomorrow.  Enjoy.

:Ernest Gonzales - Self Awakening (Faunts Remix):  I should probably be sharing the original version of this so that you can hear what guy can do on his own, but I absolutely love how Faunts took this song, doubled the length and made it a completely different listen by simply turning the dial up on what's already there.  Put headphones on for this.  Then, once you snap back to, purchase the EP, which features artists like Cyne, Take, Mexicans With Guns and Yppah working the same kind of magic on various tracks from Gonzales.
