Today's Quick Mention: I was planning on staying away from any shows
for at least a week or two, but I think I'm going to get out and have some
fun tonight with the Sounds at La Zona Rosa. Anyone else going?
A little behind on stuff, so I put together another EP. Enjoy.
:Loch
Lochmond - Wax And Wire:
I don't know exactly how much music flooded my inbox while I
was out dealing with ACL, but easily one of the better
tracks I received was this rather beautiful, lush gem from
the Portland-based group Loch Lochmond. Be sure to do
yourself a favor and make a note to pick up the Night
Bats EP when Hush Records releases it on November 10.

In The Clouds - Don't Go Awash In This Digital Landscape:
If you couldn't tell by the title of the song and the name
of the band, this is all instrumental. Not patient
enough for such a thing? No worries. This will
still work for you, as it has quite a few loud bursts and a
runtime that's only about three and a half minutes.
Paper Crayon is available now on Erased Tapes.
:Air
Waves - Knock Out:
It's weird to think that anything could make me miss the
super sunny (and overly hot) days of a Texas summer when I'm
so very ready for fall/winter, but this lazy pop tune does
exactly that. Expect the to experience the same wave
of seasonal nostalgia. Unless, of course, you live on
the equator. At any rate, you can grab their self
titled EP whenever you'd like via Catbird Records.
:Body
Language - Huffy Ten Speed:
Just so you know, there's essentially no point to this song
other than to make you dance and smile for at least three
minutes. That's right, no insights on life or anything
like that. Just a slew of snazzy hooks. Here's
hoping you can handle it. The Speaks EP is
available right this moment on Moondgadget Records, which is
a part of Ghostly International.
:Historics
- Skin Orders:
I don't think any of them are even recognizable in this
interesting track, but the lineup consists of Don Devore
(Amazing Baby, The Icarus Line, Ink And Dagger), Mickey
Madden (Maroon 5), Josh Grubb (Vietnam), Jeff Knutsen (Fast
Fourier), and Matt Werth (Favourite Sons). Talk about
having some experienced help, right? Strategies For
Apprehension is out now on Metropolitan Indian Records.
