Today's Quick Mention:  Lots of good shows this weekend.  I recommend Free Energy at the Mohawk tonight, Leatherbag at the Ghost Room tomorrow and Local H on Sunday evening.  Me?  Yeah, I'll be on the couch, so be sure to have some fun for me too.

Most of the bloggers in the world posted up today's song earlier in the week (last year in internet time), but I've never really understood the fascination with Beach House, and it took me until yesterday to even give it a shot.  Of course, because it just wouldn't be fun any other way, it ended up being some I really like.  Sub Pop will release Teen Dream on January 26.  Enjoy.

:Beach House - Norway:  It's sort of weird, I suppose, but I think one of the main reasons I have a fondness for this track is because it actually matches up with the band's name.  Before, they were very slow paced, semi-drab and not a picture of fun in the sun at all.  Now, this is actually breezy, relaxing and worth escaping to.  Granted, it's still a little cloudy on their beach, but at least it's no longer cold and rainy.
