Today's Quick Mention: The wonderful Thao With The Get Down
Stay Down are playing a show at the Mohawk tonight, and I strongly advise
that you go or you'll miss out on a great time and the rare opportunity to
pick up their new album on laserdisc. OK, I made up that last part.
But it will be fun! Honestly.
Earlier in the week I had an artist that I hadn't mentioned in quite
sometime, and today I have another in Celebration. So what have they
been up to since their last release? Apparently, working on being free
of traditional music industry constraints. Read the neat Electric Tarot
manifesto here,
and then get on with downloading and watching what's been released so far.

If the freedom of not having a label or any sort of
timetable in which an act has to put out music makes for a
noticeable creative difference, it isn't shown here.
Now, that isn't to say this is lacking or anything - it's a
great track. Just don't expect a wild force of "new"
when this is pretty much a natural step forward on the road
of what they've always done, which is let Katrina Ford
showoff her incredible voice amongst a wide variety of
sounds.
