Today's Quick Mention:  So, why no early Fun Fun Fun Fest coverage?  Because every act on the lineup is good, and at the end of the day my advice to you is to try and see everything.  Seriously.  On a related note, follow me on Twitter for live updates and check the site over the weekend for recaps with pictures.

It would probably be a better idea to send you into this Fun Fun Fun weekend with a burst of ... fun, but because I've got a super important meeting at my day job today, you're getting something calming from the Mercury Program.  Look for the veteran instrumental music act to release Chez Viking, their first album since 2003, early next year.  Enjoy.

:The Mercury Program - Arrived/Departed:  While there isn't a cinematic-esque composition or a thunderous post-rock climax (my favorite two instrumental rock traits) anywhere to be found in this song, I can't help but love the wonderfully layered guitar bits and immaculate drumming that really make this one well crafted gem.  Grab some headphones!  And then promptly try not to zone out the rest of the day.
