Today's Quick Mention: Well, this weekend I somehow managed
another fantasy football tie (in all my years playing this has never
happened once), which is kind of lame. On the bright side though, I
also had an office-best 11-2 game pick record. So, semi-hooray!
I know I'm one of the few on this particular side of the fence, but to me
the Dirty Projectors' Bitte Orca is not the album of the year.
Now, I do think a couple of the songs are great, but for the most part it feels
overworked, and I just can't seem to fully immerse myself in it.
Crazy? Maybe. You decide and let me know. The song below
is the b-side to the Temecula Sunrise EP. Enjoy.
:The
Dirty Projectors - Ascending Melody:
As is the case with any song from this band, this is a
complex (or weird, if you prefer) track that will leave
either leave you smitten or annoyed. Personally, I
started out feeling the latter, but once I was able to get
my brain to relax and just listen it wasn't too long before
I flip-flopped opinions. Guess I'll have to go back
and try the same method with the full length.
