Did anyone
see Angels And Demons this weekend? I've read
so much mixed stuff about the quasi-follow-up to the Da
Vinci Code that I can't tell it's worth seeing.
Speak up if you know.
News time! Read on.
- The Rundown -
Bradley
Cooper has come out and said that he is not in negotiations
to play the Green Lantern.
Chris Hemsworth (Captain Kirk's dad in the new Star Trek)
has been cast as the lead role in Marvel's Thor and
as Jed Eckert in the Red Dawn remake.
Quentin Tarantino recently commented that he might do a
prequel to Inglorious Basterds if the film turns out
to be a hit.
Antonio Banderas will star in The Big Bang, which is
about a detective who is hired to find a missing stripper.
It looks as if Terry Gilliam is finally going to get The
Man Who Killed Don Quixote made after an incredibly long
10-year wait. Producer Jeremy Thomas has been hired to
help. No word yet on whether Johnny Depp will return.
Another writer has been hired to pen a script for
Grayskull.
The Last Word, which is love story set in a town
where people are losing their sensory perception, will
feature Ewan McGregor in the lead role.
Mickey Rourke is set to appear in Mona Lisa. He
will play an ex-con who becomes a driver for a high class
escort.
Anthony Hopkins and Ridley Scott are not teaming up to do
another Hannibal movie.
A biopic on Frank Sinatra's life will be directed by Martin
Scorsese. Rumor has it that he would prefer Leonardo
DiCaprio to play the singer/actor, but Universal is set on
Johnny Depp.
What's Wrong With Virginia will star Liam Neeson and
Jennifer Connelly. The plot description I read didn't
make any sense, so if you know what it's about then feel
free to share.
Jim Caviezel has signed on to appear in William Tell: The
Legend, which will detail how the famous crossbow
marksman challenged the Hapsburg monarch and inspired an
uprising against the Australian government.
For some reason plans are underway to remake Cliffhanger.
Nicole Kidman has unexpectedly had to drop out of Woody
Allen's next film. No word yet on a replacement.
Vinnie Jones (not Steven Seagal, sadly) will be joining
Jean-Claude Van Damme in Weapon.
There's some speculation that Frank Miller's Buck Rogers
movie may end up being canned.
