Today's Quick Mention:  John Michael and I have started working on a new site, which will hopefully be launched later in the summer.  If you've ever had any ideas about what you'd like to see around here than please shoot me an email or leave a comment.  Your input could make the world a better place.

Modest Mouse's last LP didn't exactly set the world on fire (I liked it), but unsurprisingly they're trekking on and putting out a small collection of unreleased tracks and b-sides.  But not because they think you'll like the old stuff more.  Or whatever, man.  Quit judging them!  The No One's First And You're Next EP is due in August (the song below has its own 7").  Enjoy.

:Modest Mouse - Satellite Skin:  "Well happy fucking congratulations"  The songs that make up the upcoming EP are said to have been made during the last two records, so if someone could drop in and explain why this gem was left off either of them then that would be great, because I just don't get why anyone thought that was a good idea.  In any case, if you've been yearning for something that doesn't totally remind you of Float On or Dashboard then get ready to have this on repeat since it's probably as close as you're ever going to get without re-visiting older efforts.
