Today's Quick Mention: First of all, I hate that the Lucksmiths
have decided to call it quits. They were a great pop act.
Secondly, Rent was a good experience last night, and you should seriously
consider going while it's in town this week, especially if you're like the
me of yesterday and haven't seen
it before.
For as long as they've been around Dead Oceans has been one of my favorite
labels, so of course I'm going to be here today to share whatever it is
they're currently pushing. OK, so maybe that's not exactly
what's going on - I do actually think that Bowerbirds are very good,
regardless of the fact that DO is putting out the band's sophomore LP
Upper Air. Look for it on July 7. Enjoy.

short while" If you come here often then you've
probably seen my repeat rambles about the Lovely Sparrows
and the way their music always feels warm, sincere and
familiar, and that's the same sort of qualities that
Bowerbirds have as well. This will leave you wanting
more, but don't even expect to notice until you've gotten
lost in a large handful of listens.
