Today's Quick Mention:  Yes!  Not only did I participate in pure domination at trivia last night (if 2nd place didn't have bonus points we would have won by double digits), but I got to see a very good show from Wye Oak, Brazos and the Pomegranates at the Mohawk.  Good times, my friends.

I usually run away from "albums" that feature string quartets (or whatever) covering rock tunes, but when I received word of Thao being involved in one I just had to give it a listen.  Surprisingly (or maybe not), it turned out well.  The Portland Cello Project's Thao And Justin Power Sessions is due out June 9 on Kill Rock Stars, and  I highly recommend it.  Enjoy.

:Thao Nguyen - Tallymarks (Featuring The Portland Cello Project):  "I think I might miss you enough to say so"  This is one of my favorite songs from Thao, so to say that I was a little nervous in hearing a different take on it would be an understatement.  However, PCP's presence has added an interesting angle to it, and I think the track sounds worlds better because of them.  It's going to be a long time before I can take this off of repeat.
