Today's Quick Mention: Last night my sweet little Dill Dozer
helped her Rhinestone Cowgirls come up with a big win of the Holy Rollers.
Hooray! She has another bout at the end of May, so if you missed out
you must come to the next one. Or else.
This weekend didn't exactly present me with as much time to browse around as
I would have liked, but fortunately it didn't really matter with the
discovery of something stellar from San Francisco-based act Photons.
Trust me when I say you're going to want to snatch up their Glory! EP
when it gets released on May 12. Enjoy.

- Where Were You Last Night:
I can't say that I really understand any of the comparisons
to the Decemberists/Arcade Fire/Strokes/Block Party that
they've received from others, but I really think that if
they keep churning out such fluttering soundscapes filled
with anthem-worthy vocals they'll end being talked about -
not just compared - with those acts. Seriously, find a
seat on the bandwagon while you still can.
