The music part of SXSW really kicks off for me tonight at the Beauty Bar with Art Disaster.  I've gone to this year after year to get myself ready for the chaos that follows, and it's always a good time.  Don't miss out if you're in town.  RSVP here.

And now for part two of my 10 Artists I Must See At SXSW.  Enjoy.

Again, the best way to find where the artists below are playing is at SCHED.  Just use the search engine to discover everywhere they'll be.  So easy!

:St Vincent - The Strangers:  This pick is a no-brainer for me.  Not only can I not wait to hear more of the upcoming Actor, but Annie Clark is one of my favorite artists to see perform.  I mean, just the facial expressions alone make for an exhilarating experience.  Here's hoping I'll catch more than one set.

:The Thermals - Now We Can See:  While Noah recently commented that he didn't like the mix of their older, nosier tunes with the newer slick ones when he saw them live, I'm actually pretty excited at the thought of getting such a set.  I think it'll make them a bit more dynamic.

:Bishop Allen - The Ancient Commonsense Of Things:  With so much going on at SXSW you're probably wondering why I'd put a band like this (they do seem to tour frequently) in my recommendation column, and to that I say accessibility.  Whether my feet are killing me, I'm starving or whatever, an upbeat, easy to love set from Bishop Allen will make everything better.  Plus, I dig the new record.

:King Kahn And The Shrines - Torture:  While I just mentioned the strategy of having artists that are easy to love in the schedule, I also think that having a handful that will make you want to drink incessantly and dance like a madman are equally important.  This is my #1 pick for such a thing.

:School Of Seven Bells - Face To Face On High Places:  To be honest, the thought of finally seeing this act play live scares the hell out of me.  I adored their record, Alpinisms, but it has a lot of very precise stuff going on, which makes them exactly the kind of band that SXSW can sometimes terrorize with tech/time issues.  Keep those fingers crossed!
