Today's Quick Mention:  As you may have noticed, I posted up details on the SXSW day parties that I'll be having with La Snacks.  If you plan on being in town then you should most certainly stop by our snazzy get together!

Since I'm a little late in jumping on the bandwagon (at least in internet time) my original plan with today's artist was to wait until the podcast to share, but I had a long, weird day yesterday and it just clicked.  In other words, there's no way I could have waited any longer.  Below awaits a gem from Pree, which is actually led by May Tabol (formerly of Le Loup).  Keep an eye out for the full length, A Chopping Block, on Kora Records later this month.  Enjoy.

:Pree - In The Parlor:  I've always been a complete sucker for anything that seems even remotely reminiscent of Modest Mouse's The Moon And Antarctica, so to hear a female-led version of something that could have easily been on that album is an odd, but rather awesome, experience for me.  It's almost like a dream come true, only I never actually had the dream.  In any case, enough with the favorable comparisons.  Just get on with listening to one of the best songs so far in 2009.
