Rachel Wood has been cast as Mary Jane Watson in the
Spider-Man musical. She has also dropped out of
Zach Snyder's Sucker Punch.
Director Timur Bekmambetov has said that he expects
Wanted 2 to shoot in the fall/winter.
Supposedly, Ron Howard will be directing the Stretch
Armstrong film.
Taylor Kitsch and and Lynn Collins have landed the lead
roles in Andrew Stanton's John Carter Of Mars.
Work has begun on a script for the next Bond movie.
Peter Morgan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are writing it.
Marcus Nispel may be directing the Conan remake.
Nispel's previous efforts include remakes of Texas
Chainsaw Massacre and Friday The 13th.
Disney is set to make a movie about the race horse
Secretariat. Diane Lane will star.
JJ Abrams has said that he and Tom Cruise are working on
Mission Impossible 4 together.
It would
appear that Rob Cohen has passed on doing another XXX
movie in favor of doing a flick called Medieval.
Shia LaBeouf has dropped out of DJ Caruso's Y: The Last
Man.
Joss Whedon reportedly turned down an offer to help reboot
the Buffy character in a movie.
Robert Rodriguez's Predators flick may end up being
directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent).
Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis and Ian McKellen are set to return
to Middle Earth in the Hobbit.
Any Polar has signed on to star in Lunch Lady, which
is about a cafeteria worker who also doubles as a
justice-giving hero of sorts.
David
Hayter is set to pen the script for Deadworld.
The film is said to be about a zombie seeking revenge.
A Lance Armstrong biopic is now underway with Gary Ross
being hired to write a script.
Last week I had word on an Alien prequel that was to
be directed by Carl Rinsch. Well, it would now appear
that he is out and Ridley Scott is in. Fox demanded
it.
Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper are in negotiations to appear
in the A-Team movie.
Todd McFarlane has said he would like to do another Spawn
movie, and one of the main roles - a cop on the search for
the titular character - was written with Leonardo DiCaprio
in mind.
