Today's Quick Mention:  With so many good shows to choose from this weekend you really can't miss, but just for the sake of recommending something I think you should go with Viva Voce at the Mohawk tomorrow night and White Rabbits at Emo's on Sunday.  See you out there.

Considering that side/solo/supergroup projects seem to pop up roughly every five minutes, I'm usually not any more excited about them than I am the artists who have yet to branch out.  With that being said, I am pumped about Drummer, a new thing lead by Patrick Carney from the Black Keys.  Look for a debut in the fall on Audio Eagle.  Enjoy.

:Drummer - Mature Fantasy:  Diamonds To Shake, the first song that I shared from the band earlier in the year, had a sort of shimmering pop quality to it, and I liked it.  This, however, doesn't have that all and is instead a fuzzy indie rock anthem.  Both styles work very well them (and it's hard not to appreciate the diversity), but I'd be a big fat liar if I didn't say that I would very much prefer that they deliver unto me a full album of tracks exactly like this inspired effort.  Expect to be left desperately wanting more.
