Today's Quick Mention:  Tonight I'll be attending an early screening of the latest Apatow effort, Funny People, and I'm somewhat excited.  Actually, a better term for it would be cautiously optimistic.  2009 has been filled with too much crap to be anything else.

With a lot of nice things being said because of a spot on the Bonnaroo lineup and a solid new record, I figured it was time I snapped out of it and jumped on the Jets Overhead bandwagon.  Better late than never.  Or, as I always grew up hearing, it's about damn time.  No Nations is available now, and the band is currently gearing up for a tour for later this year.  Enjoy.

:Jets Overhead - I Should Be Born:  Unless you happened to not catch any of the hazy alt-rock tunes that filled the 90s, there isn't much of anything here that you haven't heard before.  But, to be honest, that's what I like most about this song.  Sure, it's all been done, but that's one genre that I think has yet to be re-done to death, so it's nice to see acts like this one who are ready and willing to breath some life into it after all these years.
