Even though all of the news (my favorite part) hits the web almost immediately, I'd still love to one day attend Comic Con.  It just sounds like an absolute blast.

Here's the news.  Read on.

- The Rundown -

It would be silly to try and summarize all of the tweets and full reports from this year's Comic Con, so instead I'll just say that it sounds as if Avatar, Iron Man 2, Tron Legacy, Inglorious Basterds, Kick Ass, Where The Wild Things Are and District 9 impressed the most with either new footage or full screenings.  Sherlock Holmes, Jonah Hex, Zombieland, Alice In Wonderland, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, 2012 and A Nightmare On Elm Street also got a nice handful of positive mentions.  As far as negative feedback goes, I only came across such a thing for Pandorum, but the highly anticipated (by the teens of America) Twilight: New Moon did seem to leave a lot of people without anything to say.  That's all.  I think.

Todd Phillips has selected Robert Downey Jr. and Zack Galifianakis as the leads in his upcoming road trip comedy, Due Date.

The director of the first Saw has signed on to do the Castlevania adaptation.

Denzel Washington has decided to rejoin Unstoppable.  He was reported as being out because of salary issues.

The Lee family has come out and said that there are currently three different Bruce Lee biopics planned.

Stephen Sommers has been announced as the director (so much for him being fired, right?) of the next GI Joe installment.

Gary Oldman let it slip that the third Batman will shoot next year.  Then, unfortunately, he took that statement back by saying he doesn't know when it will happen.

David Cronenberg's next film will be an adaptation of the novel Cosmopolis, which is about a billionaire crossing Manhattan to get a haircut.

The next Pirates Of The Caribbean film will shoot in April/May of 2010.

Once Alice In Wonderland is all said and done, Tim Burton will reportedly move on to his long awaited adaptation of the show Dark Shadows.

Javier Bardem has dropped out of Money Never Sleeps because of scheduling issues.

Sam Raimi will direct the World Of Warcraft movie.

Uma Thurman will star in Girl Soldier, which is based on the true story of a nun in Uganda who helped get children out of rebel captivity in the late 90s.

Nicolas Cage is in talks to join the cast of Green Hornet.

Robert Orci has said that the next Star Trek flick may be a two-parter.

Next up for James Mangold is a film called Three Little Words.  It's apparently about Ashley Rhodes-Courter's time in foster care.
