Today's
Quick Mention: So, yesterday Why? decided to
release the dates for their tour, and apart from Fun Fun Fun
Fest there are absolutely no dates in Austin. That
sucks. Big time. Especially when you consider that
they'll be driving through here to get to Denton from
Tucson! Someone help me start a riot.
I can't claim to be as aware of current hip hop as Leah is,
but as fate (and an overly busy schedule for her) would have
it, I have a couple of new tracks I'd like to ramble about. Enjoy.

Sister - Right Hand Hi:
Not too long ago I was asked what I thought about Kid
Sister, and the only response that I could seem to muster
was a mere shoulder shrug. Now, after seeing
hearing this lovely picture number, I have
an answer - she's good. Maybe it isn't music that I'm
willing to listen to all the time, but I've spent a large
portion of this week walking around with my right hand held
high and this song firmly planted in my head, and that has
to count for something. Ultraviolet is out
October 6.
:Amanda
Blank - A Love Song:
The first time that I heard Amanda Blank it was in a track
that constantly repeated "I might like you better if we
slept together". It made me laugh. Then I
deleted it. This song, which is slow paced and not
obnoxious in any of the ways that her first single was, is a
drastic improvement. Like Kid Sister, she probably
isn't an artist that I'm willing to listen to every waking
moment, but after finding this gem I think I can count on
little efforts here and there that are great at grabbing my
attention. I Love You is out August 4.
