I'm a little shocked right now to say that for the second week running the notoriously fickle machine some refer to as "Hollywood" is pumping out something of quality.  I'm actually going to the movies twice in the next weekend (once for a certain flick about a child wizard and his daffy friends and again for an over-due screening of Drag Me To Hell at the amazing Castro Theatre) and this, this is a rare thing indeed.  Two evenings of popcorn shoveled in to my yam, feet knocking against the seat in front of me, my eyes glued to the celluloid before me.

Hah, I'm shaking my head just thinking about it.  Lets dig in!

As always, thanks for reading.

Hitting Theaters This Weekend:

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE

Director: David Yates
Cast: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint

Summary: The sixth film in the now eight-part Harry Potter series, in which our young wizard like friend jumps the whiny years of pre-adolescent directly in to the dangerous waters of young adulthood.  Wizards are involved.

Thoughts:  Can't fucking wait.  I fought my love for Harry Potter and all things related for a long time, but thanks to a good friend named marijuana and a dangerously hungover Sunday morning, I found myself deeply immersed.  I've read all the books (aside from number two - please blame the drugs) and seen all the films, and with the wide world hailing this as the best of the series and one of the better films of the year, I've already sent my cape to the cleaner, polished the varnish on my wand, and can hardly wait to settle on in to this one.

Rotten Tomatoes Score:  84%

Final Thoughts: That's all I got this week.  This film is such a behemoth it scared every studio to their dark caves, where they've spent the weeks writing proposals for remakes of terrible 80s shows.
