Today's Quick Mention:  I don't normally pay too much attention to DJs, but watching/experiencing Z-Trip at the Most Interesting Academy last night was an absolute blast.  The guy seemed to have an endless stream of all the right tunes, and it was pretty much amazing.  See him if you ever get the chance.

A number of months back SOTO's very own Noah sent me a Blakes song that he said was off their upcoming record.  Apparently, that was a demo, because yesterday I received the same track, but with a snazzy twist and an official announcement of a new LP.  It's called Souvenir, and the band will be putting it out themselves (the last one was on Light In The Attic) in October.  Enjoy.

:The Blakes - Basket:  This is a band that tends to showcase two styles - one is loud, raw, straight-up rock n' roll and the other is perfectly crafted power pop rock.  Personally, I think they're great at both, but if you asked me to choose one I'd probably go with the latter, because that would mean I'd be getting a bunch of songs like this catchy effort.  By the way, if you missed the older version of this, just know that it was pretty bare bones and that this take is much better.
