Today's Quick Mention:  Tonight I'll be attending the Most Interesting Academy (sponsored by Dos Equis) at Faulkenstein Castle.  I honestly have no idea what to expect, but as long as I get plenty of free beverages I'll probably be pretty satisfied.  Follow me, if you dare, on Twitter for updates throughout the event.

Why? has been one of my favorite bands for a large number of years, so when they announced a new full length I immediately began anxiously awaiting a single.  Yesterday, I finally received it, and today, after much far too much personal celebrating, I have it for your immediate consumption.  Eskimo Snow is due out on Anticon in late September.  Enjoy.

:Why? - This Blackest Purse:  The collage-like style songwriting and nasally vocals that Yoni Wolf provides are what I've always loved most about this band, so when I see comments about the new stuff being the "least hip hop" of all their efforts, it doesn't bother me.  Although, I will say that this slow-burning number sounds a lot like some of the stuff that made up their last album, Alopecia, so it really isn't surprising to me that a bigger shift towards the more accessible end of experimental spectrum happened.
