Today's Quick Mention:  The almighty Daytrotter just put up a video session with Rodriguez, who was in my Top 25 Albums list last year with what is quite possibly my favorite re-issue ever.  Trust me and do yourself a huge favor by checking out what they put up.

Happy Friday!  We have finally reached the end of the work week, which for whatever reason has me thinking that we need something simple and ready to be blasted while cruising with the windows down.  Or, if you will, the Rakes.  The UK-based act has a new full length coming out on March 23 titled Klang, and I believe you'll like the first taste.  Enjoy.

:The Rakes - The Light From Your Mac What do you get when toss together drowsy vocals, a steady beat and some jangly guitars?  Most bands.  And yet, while that's exactly what the Rakes are pushing out, I find myself willingly captivated and completely open to hearing as much as I can find.  You should just let go (strutting is optional, but totally recommended) for the three-minute duration of this slinky tune.
