Today's Quick Mention: Noah goofed around last week and didn't
bother to let it be known that it was his birthday, so we're going to
pretend like it's today. Happy Birthday Noah! Thank you for all
the snarky commentary that your bring to the world.
In my blog browsing this weekend I noticed that Maria Taylor had a third
solo album ready to be loved by all. I also became aware of the fact
that she's no longer on Saddle Creek. When in the world did that
happen!? First Conor, then the Faint and now Maria. I hope
Cursive isn't next. Anyhow, LadyLuck is due out on Nettwerk
Music Group later in the spring. Enjoy.

Both of Maria's
solo albums have been good, but I don't think that either of
them have carried a sound that didn't scream Azure Ray.
This, however, with its layered strings comes off as very
organic and, perhaps more importantly, something that's a
perfect fit for the sincere approach that she's taken with
her solo work. Do yourself a favor and slap on the
headphones for this one.
