What did
you guys think of the Academy Award nominations? I'm
not sure I expected The Dark Knight to really get a
mention for Best Picture, but I was surprised to see The
Reader in there. Also, why didn't Bruce
Springsteen get some recognition for his contribution to
The Wrestler? Discuss!

- The Rundown -
There's been a lot of talk as to why Terrance
Howard and Samuel L. Jackson won't be in Iron Man 2,
but the real reason seems to all be related to Marvel and
their reluctance to pay anyone. For instance, Mickey Rourke,
who is getting a paltry $250,000 for his role as the villain
in the sequel.
Rumor has it that a third Tomb Raider may be in
development as a starring vehicle for Megan Fox.
The long awaited merging of the Kill Bill
movies seems as if it'll finally come out later this year,
and Tarantino has said that it will contain a bonus
seven-minute animated sequence.
Bryan Singer has said that he isn't sure if he'll ever get
around to doing his Logan's Run remake.
Drew Barrymore commented that she'd like to do a third
Charlie's Angels.
Len Wisemen has let it be known that he'd like to turn
Gears Of War into a trilogy.
Capcom is reportedly trying to rally somewhere between $150
to $200 million for a big screen adaptation of the game
Lost Planet.
Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell have signed on as the
leads in the crime drama London Boulevard.
Dakota Fanning might be close to getting cast in the
Twilight sequel, New Moon.
An adaptation of the 1982 play Master Harold is close
to getting underway. Ving Rhames will play a noble
waiter who is mentoring a young boy (Freddie Highmore).
Tobey Maguire may produce and star in Good People,
which is about a couple in debt who stumble across a bunch
of money in their deceased neighbor's apartment.
Bill Hader has said that he has written and turned in a
slasher movie to Judd Apatow. No word yet on whether
or not it will ever get made.
Spike Lee recently commented that he still intends to do an
Inside Man 2.
Antoine Fuqua may follow-up Brooklyn's Finest with a
biopic of Gregory Scarpa Sr., who was known as the Grim
Reaper when he was the chief enforcer for the Colombo crime
family.
Warner Bros. is planning a CG-animated origin tale for
Tom And Jerry.
