Today's Quick Mention: I've never been a huge follower of
Animal Collective, but I'm interested in checking out their latest all-world
acclaimed album. Anyone care to hit me up with a copy?
There has never been a year that I haven't managed to find some particularly
noisy band to love, but I think this is the first time that one has managed
to fall in my lap before January has had the chance to end. Is it a
sign that this will be an exceptionally rocking 365 days? Maybe.
If not then that's OK, because at least I'll have Japandroids to keep me
going. Post-Nothing is due out on Unfamiliar later this year.
Enjoy.

- Young Hearts Spark Fire:
Admittedly, the
title of this song says it all since its high energy,
quasi-punk sound really is tailor-made for the young at
heart. On the other hand, if you've had a long week
and need something that will allow you to let go and bounce
around wildly as you scream "I don't want to worry about
dying/I just want to worry about those sunshine girls" then
age isn't really a concern here. I just hope your
stereo can pump it out as loud as you will want to hear it.
