Continuing the indie rock trend (yikes! where's all the sugary pop?) this
week is Heartless Bastards. I think that their bluesy sound is pretty
fantastic, but sometimes I get the impression that there are quite a few
people who just don't find them that appealing, which is kind of a shame.
Anyhow, their third LP, The Mountain, is due February 3 on Fat
Possum. Enjoy.

To be honest,
there isn't anything here that you haven't heard from the
band before. The music, despite having two new
members, is still guitar driven and determined to slog right
along in complete and total support of Erika Wennerstrom's
incredible voice. That's really what I was hoping
would be delivered, so I'm all set. What about you?
