Today's Quick Mention:  Well, hip hop is finally going to have a presence here at Side One: Track One, and help making it happen will be the host of KOOP's Hip Hop Hooray, Leah Manners.  Next Wednesday (and every other one after that) she'll be slinging recommendations all over the place, so get ready.

Oddly enough, I actually have some hip hop today!  Partly in Leah's honor, but mostly because it's from one of my favorite artists, POS.  Apparently, he's readied a new full length titled Never Better, which is due out on Rhymesayers next month.  His first two LPs have been brilliant, so I'd certainly say that this is my most anticipated release right now.  Enjoy.

:POS - Goodbye Part of what makes both of his previous efforts, Ipecac Neat and Audition, so great is how they're such all-out sonic assaults.  This song, and its mostly streamlined sound, doesn't really do that all, which is not only surprising, but semi-alarming.  Still, with that booming voice and that trademark heart-on-sleeve approach to songwriting, I'm open to a change of what goes on in the background.  Who knows?  Maybe it'll even be better.  Right now it's so far so good.
