Today's Quick Mention:  What the hell happened to February?  I swear I just convinced myself yesterday that it was too early to start thinking hardcore about SXSW, and now it's right around the corner.  Any of you planning on being in town?  If so let me know!

I always feel silly when I make note of putting an artist in this category, but there are a nice number that I never actively think about until they put out a new record.  For instance, Immaculate Machine.  I liked their first two records, saw them once and now I'm digging High On Jackson Hill (due on Mint in late April).  Who knows?  Maybe they'll stick with me longer this time around.  Enjoy.

:Immaculate Machine - Sound The Alarms:  Two of my song rambles this week featured veteran artists (Yeah Yeah Yeahs/Cursive) that had decided to go in a different direction with their sound.  You won't find that here.  In fact, with their third album Immaculate Machine haven't decided to do much that they've haven't already done in the realm of indie rock, and I'm totally OK with that.  After all, a band doesn't always have to take wild chances, it is acceptable for them to just keep getting better.  Kudos to Immaculate Machine for going that route.
