Today's Quick Mention: Guess what!? I'm teaming up with
local act La Snacks for a couple of day parties at SXSW. I don't want
to divulge all the details now (they'll be posted up in all of their glory
in about a week), but know that it will be an awesome time. I hope you
all can attend.
This weekend not only included me putting the brand spanking new Yeah Yeah
Yeahs single Zero in the podcast, but also the release of another
track off of the upcoming It's Blitz. Honestly, I almost kept
with the podcast idea and waited until next weekend to share it, but the
song's sound is so different than what I was expecting I decided to ramble
about it now. Enjoy.

Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll:
If you thought that Zero merely hinted at another
direction for the band then this super catchy song will
leave you feeling very certain that the sounds of Date
With The Night and/or Phenomena are cemented
firmly in the past. I wouldn't say that's necessarily
a bad thing, as this song does still feature the trademark
YYY confidence, but I will say that I'll miss their sloppy
rock days. Who knows? Maybe the rest of the
album will rock - and not dance - my face off.
