Today's Quick Mention:  Had another go at trivia last night.  And guess what?  We totally WON!  The result was probably because we had 12 brains on the team, but I'm going to say it was all due to us naming ourselves Curious Gouge And The Tale Of Wine And Xanex.  Watch out for us in the finals!

The almighty super group known as Swan Lake, which features
Spencer Krug (Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown), Dan Bejar (Destroyer, New Pornographers), and Carey Mercer (Frog Eyes, Blackout Beach), seems to have readied a new LP.  I, unlike many folks out there, didn't really fall in love with their debut, but the song below is much more appealing.  Enemy Mine is due in March.  Enjoy.

:Swan Lake - A Hand At Dusk:  Obviously, there's a lot of talent behind this song.  You know it.  I know it.  We need not discuss it, or what each of them may have contributed, further.  Instead, what we'll bring to light is the fact that these guys now seem to be wonderfully comfortable with each other.  For a dash over six-minutes this song crawls along, allows everyone to shine and features layer after layer of personality.  For me, this is one of the more interesting listens so far in 2009.  Remember to grab some headphones.
