Today's Quick Mention: There's no doubt that I'm heading to
Pluckers for trivia tonight, but I won't deny that's there is an urge to
either be super hip and catch Bat For Lashes at the Parish or be old school
and nostalgic with Incubus at the Austin Music Hall.
One of my favorite songs this year is the rather cheesy, but really fun
M.A.G.I.C. from The Sound Of Arrows, so it kind of pained me yesterday
when I realized that I was a week behind on championing their latest single.
Oh well. At some point the band is supposedly going to do an official
full length, but for now it's just the occasion mini-effort. Into
The Clouds is due September 21. Enjoy.

Just like M.A.G.I.C. made me simultaneously roll my
eyes and ask for more, this song is so over the top synth
pop that you can't help but like it. Sure, many of you
won't be like me and excitedly tell others about your
newfound obsession with such cheesiness, but that's OK - I
know you know that you love it, and I won't tell anyone.
Probably. Here's hoping the next single isn't too far
away.
