Today's Quick Mention:  Don't forget that starting today Pitchfork will begin dissecting the last decade of music.  As I've already stated, I don't know if I should be excited or scared, but considering that they've been so involved over the years, these lists and feature pieces have to at least be interesting.

Doing what most bands should do, the Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are further supporting their wave of positive buzz (most of which has been generated by their very awesome self titled debut) with yet another release.  This time though, it's not a mere 7", the Higher Than The Stars EP actually features four new songs.  Look for it on Slumberland Records on September 22.  Enjoy.

:The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - Higher Than The Stars:  Definitely my most trendy pick of the year, this band is full-on, no holds barred glitzy pop (with a bit of fuzz), and this song doesn't see them straying from that in the slightest bit.  Actually, if anything it pretty much shows off that they're actually getting better at it.  Consider me anxious for more if they're going to keep putting such great stuff out so often.
