The summer
(or most of the year, for that matter) hasn't exactly had a
ton of great movies, but over the course of the past week I
saw three that will undoubtedly be in the upper echelons of
my year-end list. They were District 9,
Inglorious Basterds and Thirst. Go see them
all as soon as possible.
Here's the news! Read on.
- The Rundown -
A script
for a new Jack Ryan adventure has supposedly been met with

the role.

Rice's Vampire Chronicles with none other than Robert
Downey Jr. as Lestat.

order to hunt down a bunch of vampires.
Craig Robinson will be playing the unknown role of Cookie in
Shrek Forever After.
Rumor has it that Kate Beckinsale might return for a fourth
Underworld.
Work has begun on a follow-up to this year's really terrible
X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Jon Heder
will star in Alive And Well, which is about the
resurrection of Buddy Holly. Or something.

which is said to follow an accountant who is thrown into the
world of espionage after reconnecting with a friend on
Facebook.
Legendary Pictures is rumored to be looking at doing another
Godzilla movie.
The tentative titles for the next two Riddick movies seem to
be The Underverse and The Furyan.
Jonathan Demme has reportedly stopped working (or been
fired?) on the Bob Marley documentary because of creative
differences with producer Steve Bing.
David Goyer's script for Green Arrow Supermax is
reportedly still in the works.
Frank Langella has joined the cast of Money Never Sleeps.
Jason Patrick has joined the cast of The Losers as
the main villain Max.

Singer has been announced as the director of the upcoming
Battlestar Galactica movie. It is said to have

Inc. Studios.

Three Stooges movie.
