Today's Quick Mention:  Well, trivia didn't exactly go our way last night, and we ended up in a somewhat respectable, but totally unwanted third place.  I don't know what the deal is, but we can't ever seem to catch a break when finals roll around.  We're like the Dan Marino of trivia.  Whatever.

Despite getting home completely sloshed and disappointed last night, I did manage to find something worth smiling about, and it was some David Bazan.  The man, who many of you probably know from his work as Pedro The Lion, has a new record coming up for Barsuk titled Curse Your Branches.  It will be good, so look for it on September 1.  Enjoy.

:David Bazan - Bless This Mess:  Bazan's best quality is his songwriting (that warm, endearing voice is pretty good too), so that tends to be all that I focus on when I listen to anything he's ever done.  Here, it's no different, especially when he's throwing out lyrical gems like "I have seen my own reflection/And it makes me want to be a better man/After another drink."  I mean, is that not the line of the year?  Listen and learn, my friends.
